A gut renovation is when we renovate the interior of your home while leaving the exterior in place. Typically, this refers to a full remodel of the interior, which includes changing layouts, moving walls, and updating finishes. Essentially, we “gut” your space and start with a blank canvas – in contrast to “redoing a kitchen” – where a bulk of the apartment is being left alone.
We are based in DUMBO, Brooklyn, and primarily work in the greater New York City area, including Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, Long Island, and the Catskills.

Of course! If the work is limited to the interior of the building, as most gut renovations are, this typically does not represent much of a challenge. If the work includes the replacement of windows or new mechanical that affects the exterior – we will need to work with the Land Preservation Committee for their approval as well as go through the usual permitting process with the Building and DOB.
