LP Apartment

K—DA was enlisted by a jewelry designer to renovate her cozy Chelsea apartment. With her love for clean, contemporary style and attention to detail, the owner sought a space that reflected her personality and aesthetic sensibilities.

To make the most of the limited space, k-da carefully considered how to create a sense of openness and flow throughout the apartment. One of the design strategies employed was to use high-contrast color palettes of white and black to define different zones and create visual interest. This approach was particularly evident in the open kitchen, which was rendered in a dark tone to contrast with the light-filled living room, thereby serving as a counterbalancing element to the overall design.

Upon entering the apartment, one is greeted with a light-filled entryway featuring flush mirrored closets, which reflect and amplify the natural light. The living room, located just beyond the entryway, is designed to be both comfortable and stylish, with clean lines and minimalistic furnishings. Invisible flush mount doors, flush baseboards, and trimless openings throughout the apartment create a sense of continuity and contribute to the overall feeling of crispness and cleanliness.

The bathroom, designed with the same attention to detail as the rest of the apartment, features a marble mosaic that creates a beautiful geometric pattern when viewed up close, and fades into a marble field when viewed holistically. The bedroom is similarly minimalistic, featuring flush sliding doors and simple open storage to create an uncluttered, open feel.

This contemporary luxury apartment renovation is a testament to the power of thoughtful design and attention to detail. By using high-contrast color palettes and emphasizing clean lines and flush details, k-da was able to transform a small living space into a functional, comfortable, and stylish oasis that perfectly reflects the owner’s unique sensibilities.
